Bikes for the World is looking to add a part time Operations Assistant to our team. The primary responsibility of the Operations Assistant is to coordinate bicycle donations by driving to one-time collection events and recurring collection drop-off points at bike shops and other locations in the DC area. Other responsibilities include maintaining the Rockville, MD warehouse space and working with Bikes for the World volunteers and staff on related tasks such as prepping bikes for shipment and loading shipping containers.  

Operations Assistant duties include:

Bicycle Acquisitions

• Drive Bikes for the World vehicles from the warehouse to collect bicycle donations or process scrap metal
• Work independently to keep pick-up operations running smoothly
• Communicate with donation partners to schedule timely and efficient pickups

Organizing and Warehouse Processing

•  Work independently and with volunteers/staff to efficiently unload donations, load shipments, and move items in the warehouse
